1. Our Philosophy

Purist Journal is designed to provide a high-quality, fully-featured experience from day one. We believe in providing value upfront, which is why our Free Tier offers a complete journaling experience without arbitrary restrictions on basic functionality.

2. No-Refund Policy

Because Purist Journal provides a comprehensive free local experience that allows you to fully test the product's core features before choosing to upgrade, all sales of digital premium subscriptions (Purist+) are generally final and non-refundable.

By upgrading to Purist+, you acknowledge that you have had the opportunity to evaluate the software via the Free Tier and that you are satisfied with its functionality.

Discretionary Exceptions

While our general policy is no refunds, we reserve the right to issue refunds at our sole discretion in exceptional circumstances, such as:

  • A significant technical failure on our end that prevents you from accessing the service for an extended period.
  • A duplicate or accidental charge caused by a billing error.

If you believe you qualify for an exception, please contact us at mostafaabdrabu@gmail.com within 30 days of the charge. We will review your request and respond within 2 business days. Approving an exception is at our sole discretion and does not obligate us to grant future exceptions.

Billing Errors

If you believe you have been charged incorrectly or experienced a billing error, please contact us at mostafaabdrabu@gmail.com within 30 days of the charge and we will investigate promptly.

Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record

Payments for Purist+ are processed by Lemon Squeezy, who acts as our Merchant of Record. In some cases, refund requests may be handled directly by Lemon Squeezy in accordance with their own policies. We will cooperate with Lemon Squeezy on any refund or dispute processes that involve your subscription.

European Union & United Kingdom Consumers

If you are a consumer residing in the European Union or United Kingdom, you typically have a statutory right to withdraw from online purchases within 14 days without giving any reason.

However, when purchasing Purist+, you explicitly consent to the immediate delivery of the digital subscription service. By proceeding with the purchase, you acknowledge and agree that you lose your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal, as the digital service has been made available to you immediately upon purchase, except where required by local mandatory consumer laws.

Chargebacks

We ask that you contact us before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card provider. We are committed to resolving issues fairly and promptly, and most problems can be resolved without a dispute. Initiating an unjustified chargeback may result in suspension or termination of your account.

3. Cancellation Policy

You are in full control of your subscription. You may cancel your Purist+ subscription at any time — no questions asked.

How to Cancel

  1. Open the Purist Journal application.
  2. Navigate to your Account Settings panel.
  3. Click on the Manage Subscription button.
  4. Follow the prompts on our payment partner's portal (Lemon Squeezy) to cancel your auto-renewal.

What Happens After Cancellation

You will continue to have access to all Purist+ features until the end of your current billing period.

After that, your account will revert to the Free Tier and cloud synchronization will be disabled.

Your local data (stored on your device) will remain completely unaffected.

Your previously synced cloud data will remain accessible for a limited period after downgrading. We recommend exporting your data before your subscription ends to avoid any loss.

Cancelling your subscription does not delete your account. You can resubscribe to Purist+ at any time.
